Doncaster try for West Ham striker Piquionne

Doncaster are in talks with Championship rivals West Ham to sign striker Frederic Piquionne on loan. Piquionne has found himself out of the picture at Upton Park and the recent arrivals of Ricardo Vaz Te and Nicky Maynard.

Donny agent, Willie McKay, has confirmed talks are ongoing about a deal to bring Piquionne to the Keepmoat Stadium.

"We are talking to West Ham about taking Piquionne on loan," McKay told skysports.com.

"He is a player I know a lot about having followed him when he was in France with St Etienne, Monaco and Lyon before coming to Portsmouth and then West Ham.

"Dean is keen to get a new striker in and hopefully we can do a deal for Piquionne."
