Championship outfit Doncaster Rovers are looking to bring former Liverpool midfielder Damien Plessis to the club.

The 23-year old Frenchman is currently with Greek club Panathinaikos but it is believed that the Rovers have agreed a deal to bring him to Keepmoat Stadium on loan for the remainder of the season.

Agent Willie McKay revealed to skysports.com that Plessis was on the verge of joining Doncaster who second bottom in England's second tier.

"We have lined up a deal to sign Damien Plessis from Panathinaikos on loan," McKay said.

"Because of the financial situation in Greece we have been lucky enough to agree a deal with Panathinaikos to sign a player of the calibre of Damien.

"Damien wants to get back to the Premiership and we will give him that chance at Doncaster to put himself in the shop window."
