Doncaster end Wigan keeper Kirkland's loan spell

Doncaster Rovers have ended Chris Kirkland's loan spell from Wigan after the keeper suffered a recurrence of a back problem. The 30-year-old only joined the Championship outfit last week on loan until January and played in Friday's 3-0 defeat by Leeds.

Rovers manager Dean Saunders told BBC Radio Sheffield: "He's got a problem with his back so he's gone back to Wigan and we move on.

"It's a spasm in his back and if you've had one you can't move."
