Agent Willie McKay has confirmed Doncaster are in negotiations to sign Marc Antoine Fortune and Boudewijn Zenden as their ambitious transfer plans to keep them in the Championship gather pace. A deal for West Bromwich Albion striker Fortune is close to completion with Thursday's emergency loan deadline on the horizon.
McKay told Press Association Sport: "We're waiting for a player to come through training on Thursday, Shane Long, and if he's okay West Brom will allow Marco to come and join us. It would be until January 4."
Former Holland midfielder Zenden is also on Rovers' radar. He has been without a club since his release by Sunderland at the end of last season and recently failed to win a contract at Celtic.
"We've spoken to Bolo," he added. "He played for Celtic in a friendly against St Johnstone. I'm a Celtic fan myself and I was told he was outstanding. But he couldn't agree anything there and we've been in contact with him."
