Doncaster Rovers have confirmed their interest in Tottenham striker Ryan Mason.
Mason is a loan target for Doncaster.
Rovers manager Sean O'Driscoll said: "He's back from Portugal but has a slight thigh strain, but Spurs have a couple of games this week so he might be involved in those.
"So we are keeping in touch with Spurs and would like, if he is fit, for him to feature in the Grimsby game (on Friday), but if not, get him up for training next week.
"Whether this will come to fruition we don't know but that's the plan.
"He's got a year left on his Spurs contract so we would be probably looking at getting him up to the January window, when both Ryan and the club would look at what his options are."
