Doncaster boss Sean O'Driscoll has given the thumbs up for the club to sign former Arsenal trialist Valentino Shielis on a one-year deal.
The 17-year-old Cypriot was rejected by the Gunners after a short spell, but League One club Rovers have decided to take a chance on him.
Director of football Mickey Walker told the club's official website: "Arsenal felt that Valentino was a bit too small, but he was 5ft 4in then, whereas he is 6ft 2in now.
"All I am saying is not to expect anything too much now, but I expect great things in the future."
Shielis added: "It was such a big opportunity for me to sign for Doncaster Rovers, which is a great club."
