Doncaster boss Saunders hoping to attract quality

Doncaster Rovers manager Dean Saunders admits he is still trying to bring in top quality players despite the club being relegated to League One.

Rovers had a tough campaign in the Championship and will now be competing in England's third tier but Saunders will not stop trying to get proven players to the Keepmoat Stadium.

"I'm trying to bring in the best players I can within the budget I have," he told the club's official website.

"I've spoken to several more this week and some are out of our price range when it comes to wages, so it's a case of persuading them this is the best place for them to come and further their careers.

"It feels a bit like playing poker at the moment and waiting for all the cards to fall into place. We have set our sights high and hopefully we will be in a position to announce something soon."
