Newcastle United No2 John Carver has told Ryan Donaldson its time to deliver.
The Academy product has been handed a new deal at St James' Park, with the 20-year-old's attitude in training impressing Toon chief Alan Pardew.
Former Toronto FC and Leeds United boss Carver told the Evening Chronicle: "Ryan has a great chance to kick on now at Newcastle United.
"He was on loan in League One with Hartlepool last season, but this year he could end up with a loan deal at a Championship club.
"Or he can stay here and try to push up to the first-team squad."
