Napoli coach Roberto Donadoni hit out at fans booing defender Paolo Cannavaro during yesterday's home defeat to Torino.

Donadoni said: "I do not think that we should create a bigger problem, I can only say that Paolo is a golden boy, a boy who will always try. The fact that we hear him booed has hurt me, never mind him.

"He should not suffer this situation and needs exactly the opposite, it is not right that he is being treated as a scapegoat because no one exists, a team is a team, with myself in the first place, I deserve the boos."
