Italy coach Roberto Donadoni has hinted the international career of Juventus captain Alessandro del Piero is over.
"It was difficult to leave anyone at home, not just Del Piero," Donadoni explained. "At 33, he will find it harder to recover than at 27, but he has shown he is in condition.
"My choices are never personal and every one of my 20 players are treated equally."
Milan marksman Pippo Inzaghi will also have to watch on TV after he was left out of the squad.
"I have spoken to Inzaghi and Del Piero and told them that I make my choices on a single-game basis and select the men for each job.
"Players need to think of themselves as important, but time passes for everyone. I know because I thought I was at the top when I wasn't."
