The 29-year old former Northampton Town centre-half has fallen out of favour under Graham Arnold who prefers Dutch recruit Patrick Zwaanswijk and skipper Alex Wilkinson in his position and his future at Bluetongue Stadium is now clouded.

Doig has not been included in either of the Mariners’ squads for their opening two matches this season and reports suggest that he may be pondering life after Gosford.
