Tottenham's plans to build a 45-room 'lodge' at their training centre is being blocked by newts!
The Mirror reports greenies claim colonies of protected newts and bats are living on the site.
Spurs want to build the lodge at its 77-acre training ground for players to "sleep between double training sessions".
Amazingly, the plan is being held up after the ever-earnest eco-warriors found bats in a BARN on the site.
A report from the local council states that before planning permission can be granted the newts and bats must be "looked after" and that the club must "demonstrate that the favourable conservation status of the species will be maintained within the whole of the site".
Spurs have been the land owners since 2007.
