Dnipro owner Ihor Kolomoyskyi has revealed that he is close to selling Yevhen Konoplyanka to Tottenham.
The Ukrainian club were in negotiations with Liverpool late in the January transfer window for the 24-year old winger but a deal fell through when Kolomoyskyi could not agree a fee with the Reds.
Liverpool's Premier League rivals Tottenham were also showing considerable interest in Ukraine international Konoplyanka and it has been reported that he could end up at White Hart Lane in the summer.
Kolomoyskyi admitted to Ukrainian TV channel 2+2 that the Liverpool proposal had fallen over but suggested that Konoplyanka could now quite possibly end up with Spurs at the end of the current campaign.
"I have contact with the Tottenham president (Daniel Levy). I am talking with him," he said.
"He is interested in Konoplyanka. We are in the stage of negotiations and are perhaps close to signing a contract if Yehven agrees.
"I would choose Tottenham - London - not Liverpool.
"There are matches only once or twice a week, and at other times he will still need somewhere to live.
"I believe London life is preferable to Liverpool.
"With Liverpool I did not negotiate and I was negotiating with some representatives on the phone.
"Talks with Tottenham are on a whole different level. It's a serious approach, all grown up, with an understanding of the player and our club."
Konoplyanka has been with Dnipro since he was a 17-year old in the youth academy and has notched up close to 160 appearances in all competitions.
The 2010, 2012 and 2013 Ukrainian Footballer of the Year has also represented his country on 36 occasions and was a member of the UEFA Europa League Team of the Year in 2012.
