World Cup winner Youri Djorkaeff has dismissed West Ham criticism of Dimitri Payet.
Djorkaeff, formerly of Bolton Wanderers, says Payet is a great leader and example for Marseille's young players.
"I think the impact of such a player on a young person who comes to progress in Marseille is undeniable," he said.
"For those who move between the CFA and the first team, it is an additional motivation to improve and to be able to evolve alongside him during the training sessions. This should be an example for the young talents of the training centre.
"Let me take the example of Falcao. They admire his ability to play, under the best conditions, all those young players who surround him. If tomorrow you do not have a Falcao in this Monaco, I am convinced that we do not see as many emergences of nuggets."
