Arsenal hero Lee Dixon has branded the board a "disgrace" for allowing Patrick Vieira to develop his coaching with Manchester City.
The former Gunners captain is in his second season in charge of City's MLS partners New York City FC.
Dixon, discussing Arsene Wenger's replacement, said at an Arsenal Supporters' Function on Monday: "It needs an experienced hand. But I have got no faith in the board.
"Whoever comes in must be a coach, who can develop a proper system.
"You're caught between the romance of a Vieira or an Henry managing the club.
"I think you need some of them in and around the club. Its a disgrace City are grooming Patrick for their club."
