Divock Origi ready for Liverpool comeback

Liverpool striker Divock Origi is aiming for a swift playing return.

December had been a breakthrough month for him with a classy hat-trick in the 6-1 rout of Southampton in the Capital One Cup.

He followed that up by coming off the bench to grab a dramatic late equaliser against West Brom at Anfield.

“It was a very happy time for me because I had worked so hard to get back on form," Origi told the Liverpool Echo.

“I was given the chance to start at Southampton and to score three goals was wonderful.

“The matchball, signed by my team-mates, is at home with the other ball from when I scored a hat-trick for Lille. There's a place where I put all my memories.

“Scoring against West Brom was also a very special moment because it was my first goal in the Premier League and my first goal at Anfield. The fact it was an equaliser in the last minute made it even better.

“Even against Leicester I felt really good before the pain in my hamstring. I was really enjoying my game.

“I've worked hard to get back and now I'm ready for the rest of the season."
