Everton defender Sylvain Distin is confident going into the new season after their friendly win over Real Betis.
After another taxing 90 minutes, the Toffees emerged victors for the fourth time in the lead-up to the new season - a further source of encouragement for the French defender.
"We didn't keep a clean sheet but the most important thing is that we do when the season starts," Distin told evertontv.
"We've been doing well, we have played really good opposition with some of the best strikers in the world - definitely best strikers in Europe - so it was a real challenge.
"In the first half [against Betis] it was a bit difficult and I think we'd been a little exposed. The second half much was better but all together it was a good game for us, a good test.
"It was really good opposition and we were not expecting an easy game."
