Everton defender Sylvain Distin says there remains a determination within the squad to qualify for the Europa League.

Everton's Champions League hopes were ended in defeat at Sunderland on Saturday.

Distin told evertonfc.com: "We'll see about the Europa League now but no matter what happens, we want to win every remaining game until the end of the season. We missed a good chance against Sunderland but there's always the next game.

"I don't think we need anything to galvanise us for the rest of the season. We all want the same thing, which is to finish as high as possible. If we had beaten Sunderland, I can promise you nobody would have sat back for the next game. The mentality here is that we want to win every game."
