Sylvain Distin believes Portsmouth have to win every game between now and the end of the season if they are to ensure top-flight football at Fratton Park next season.

"It was a good performance and we almost kept a clean sheet and against a team like Chelsea it was very good," said Distin.

"We are not going to lose every game if we carry on like we did against them. We will get the reward.

"I thought we had a good shape and organisation and are difficult to beat. We have shown that in our previous two games and if you are disappointed to lose against Chelsea, it is very positive.

"It is a bit frustrating because we could have got at least one point. But Chelsea kept working hard and when you are winning, you always have a bit of luck.

"From now until the end of the season every game is going to be a cup final. Chelsea was just another opportunity to get three points. We see every game as an opportunity to get points and get out of trouble.

"Every game is going to be a big battle for us until the end of the season. We have to win every single game."
