Sylvain Distin says Portsmouth signings Younes Kaboul and on-loan Arsenal fullback Armand Traore have lifted the spirit around the club.

"They are young, so very enthusiastic," said Distin.

"When you arrive in the squad you want to perform well because you want to keep your place and you want to keep playing so they are really focused so that's good and lifts everybody.

"That's more competition and lifts up the whole squad."
