Distin hails Everton return for Pienaar

Everton defender Sylvain Distin was delighted with Steven Pienaar's return for their draw at Wigan Athletic.

David Moyes described the returning Steven Pienaar as ‘the best player on the pitch’ and Distin agreed that the South African made a real impression in his first game back at the Club.

“We really missed him when he left and we never really replaced him,” he told evertontv. “He just always wants the ball. Even if he has a player sat on his back he wants the ball. That makes it easier for us at the back – we kept the ball a lot better and that was largely down to him.”
