Former Everton defender Sylvain Distin believes the Toffees will benefit from Lucas Digne and Kurt Zouma being recalled to the France squad.

The pair earned a recall from Didier Deschamps after an impressive start to the season at Goodison Park.

"Their call ups indicate just how well the two players have done this season and reflects well on the Club," former Toffees centre-back Distin told the club's website.

"If you play for your country, it is because you merit your selection and it is great for them both.

"They have been on the national team's radar for a while, so if they are playing regularly and consistently well, they will be in the manager's plans.

"It is a boost to go away and play for your country – especially if you have not done it for a while.

"It is a mental boost and gives you a lot of confidence. They will bring that back to Everton now, which is great for the team. And it is good for Everton to be providing players for top international sides."
