Distin denies demanding 2-year Everton contract

Sylvain Distin denies holding out for a new two-year contract at Everton.

The 34-year-old, whose current deal expires at the end of the current campaign, insists he would be happy to sign and commit his future to the club.

"I read today in the newspaper that I was asking for a two-year contract. I am not sure where that has come from but it is completely untrue, and I would like to rectify that," Distin said in the Liverpool Echo.

"I am happy with one year. If Everton want to give me two then that is all good, but I am really happy with one."
