Sylvain Distin is delighted Portsmouth defensive rival Linvoy Primus is again ready to compete for a first team place.

Distin told the Portsmouth News: "I'm really happy for Linvoy. I'm really glad he is back. He has had a hard year. It has been tough for him, but he is a great guy, and we are all pleased he is back.

"I'm really happy for him. Before I knew him I could tell he was a great guy. He always has a smile on his face. He is a really good person and I hope he can carry on without any problems.

"So far he has done great, and we all want it to stay that way for him. He's a good player and he will want to play games this season. He's finding his fitness like we all are. It's coming together."
