DIS owners angry with revelations over Neymar's Barcelona move

The Sonda Group have broken their silence over the controversy around Neymar's move from Santos to Barcelona.

The Sonda Group, through DIS, owned 40% of Neymar's rights, for which it has only received €6.8 million in a deal that Barcelona has admitted cost €86.2 million.

Their chairman, Jose Domingo Barral, told Marca: "During the Confederations Cup, when Neymar said he didn't want to leave, we got two phone calls from (former Barcelona president) Sandro Rosell. He called us up but we couldn't arrange a meeting because Rosell couldn't come to Brazil. If he's not allowed into Brazil, then he has problems...

"Then word got around that the transfer deal cost €57 million, and in that case we shouldn't have got 6, we should have got more. That's when Barcelona agent André Cury showed up. He presented us with the club's official card and made an appointment. We had a coffee and he made us an initial offer of €4 million to let the matter go. We told him the figure we thought we were due: 12 million plus the 6 we had already received. He raised the offer to 6, that is to say 12 in total. We had three meetings with André Cury. The contract was done and dusted; this was an afterthought, to avoid problems, to keep us quiet. We didn't accept."
