Derby will appointment a director of football at Pride Park this summer to work alongside manager Nigel Clough and his backroom team as well as chief executive Tom Glick. Glick told BBC Derby: "We're looking for someone who can add a talent and depth to our football operation, working with myself, working with the manager and his team to make us even sharper in that part of our operation.
"We've had the search going for a few weeks now, we've made great progress, we have a number of very talented, bright, ambitious people who are attracted to the club and to the opportunity.
"We would hope in the coming weeks that we'll be able to make that announcement. It's not a rush or an urgent thing, it's not holding us up in the transfer window at all, it's more of a long-term appointment."
Glick added: "Having a big name is not a big part of it, it's really a behind-the-scenes position, helping us to make sure the first team, scouting, recruitment, Academy, youth development, medical team are all linked and working very well together. It's a very important position."
