El Hadji Diouf admits Bolton Wanderers' successful UEFA Cup run this season has thrown their Premiership status in doubt.

Diouf, speaking at the launch of his charity The Dioufy Foundation, concedes the club need to work hard on turning that statistic around.

He said: "Of course our form has been badly affected by the UEFA Cup.

"But we have done well in Europe and now we just need more points to stay in the Premier League.

"If we continue the way we are going right now we will stay up."
