Ex-Liverpool attacker El Hadji Diouf has claimed that Steven Gerrard has done "nothing for his country."
Diouf has insulted the former Liverpool captain, who he played with between 2002 and 2005 at Anfield, several times over the years.
And now, the retired Senegal international says Gerrard delivered nothing for England during his 114-cap career with the Three Lions.
"I have no problem with him," said Diouf via ESPN.
"Gerrard is a strong character and I am a strong character.
"'Stevie G' was a very good player, people like him in Liverpool but he never did anything for his country.
"I am Mr. El Hadji Diouf, Mr. Senegal, but he is Mr. Liverpool and Senegal is bigger than Liverpool and he has to know that."
Diouf completed a move to Anfield from Rennes after starring for Senegal in the Lions improbable World Cup run in 2002.
However, his three-year stint managed was disastrous.
The 36-year scored 3 goals in 55 outings and holds the dubious record of being the only Liverpool no.9 to go an entire season without scoring a single goal.
