Papa Bouba Diop has backed the campaign to get Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp a knighthood.

Diop said: "I heard the story about the Portsmouth fans trying to make Harry into Sir Harry. I don't know much about knighthoods in England, but if it's a big mark of honour I believe he deserves it.

"Harry is a top manager and a good person. He is a leader who can get the best out of his players just by motivating them. He gets on well with every player and has a great passion for the game."
