Dinamo Moscow's Wilkshire not out of World Cup frame despite axe

Luke Wilkshire is still very much in the reckoning for Australia's World Cup squad despite his omission from Ange Postecoglou's first squad.

The 32-year old Dinamo Moscow right-back, who has played 79 times for the Socceroos, was not called up for next week's friendly with Costa Rica in Sydney but that does not necessarily mean his chances of making it to Brazil 2014 are gone according to Postecoglou.

"Luke played for a long time - again a fantastic servant to the Socceroos in that position. He is not out of the frame by any stretch," Postecoglou said.

"Other people will get an opportunity now and it is up to them to try and fit in.

"If Luke plays well for his club he will be in the selection frame again."
