Dimitri Payet is convinced West Ham are on the brink of something special.
The Frenchman has signed a bumper new £125,000-a-week five-and-a-half-year contract – which includes various bonuses – that makes him the Hammers' top earner.
Payet said: “West Ham has the means now to reach its ambitions.
“It posed me no problems to extend my stay at West Ham, because I feel the club really has the desire to continue.
“The club really wants to keep its players and arrive next season at the new stadium with a competitive team.
“I think there is everything here to make West Ham a big club.
“Signing a new contract shows that all the rumours about me weren't especially true. The love affair continues.
“I've said it several times that I feel very good here. Everyone's done all they can to make me feel good.
“It's a show of faith from the management and also shows I want to sign up long-term to the club."
