French midfielder Didier Digard is undergoing a medical Middlesbrough.

The Paris Saint Germain star has emerged as Gareth Southgate's primary summer transfer target.

Southgate confirmed his interest on Wednesday and it appears a deal is now close to completion.

Sky Sports has learnt that Digard has arrived in the North East to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms with Boro.

The likes of Newcastle and Portsmouth were both keen but it seems Boro are very much in pole position to seal his signature.
