New signing Diego Tristan has rubbished claims West Ham will be relegated this season.
Tristan, 32, was lured to West Ham last month by boss Gianfranco Zola. But the Italian is already under pressure after losing five of his last six games.
Tristan said: "I think we have a good enough squad to stay up this season but every game is difficult. We have to adapt to this new style of play and that's not easy."
The Hammers also have cash worries and Zola may have to sell key men.
But Tristan insisted: "The only reason I came here was to play for Zola. I am working hard to make sure I'm fit and ready to help the team."
