Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin insists they can challenge for the title.

Godin is confident they can compete with Barcelona and Real Madrid.

"On paper, it seems impossible for Atletico to compete with Barca or Madrid. It's very difficult due to their track record in recent years and their budgets," Godin said.

"However, at this moment, we can challenge for the league title. We can compete with anyone. It's no coincidence that we sit second in the league table.

"We'll just have to see where we are at the end of the season. We're going to keep fighting to win one game at a time without thinking any further ahead."
