Dida apologises to AC Milan fans

AC Milan goalkeeper Nelson Dida has apologised publicly for his theatrics against Celtic earlier this month.

Before the warm-up for yesterday's Serie A game with Empoli, Dida walked all the way round the pitch at San Siro, pausing to bow down to every sector of the crowd.

This very public apology and the supporters, who applauded the gesture, appreciated act of contrition.

"I did not see Dida's gesture, but I was told about it," said Milan general manager Adriano Galliani on Sky Italia television. "It was a good way to close this whole affair. I continue to say that the ban was too heavy for Dida."
