Bordeaux defender Souleymane Diawara is desperate for the club to turn the loan of AC Milan midfielder Yoann Gourcuff into a permanent deal.

Diawara declared: "I am willing to pay for him out of my own pocket.

"If the president thinks he is too expensive, I can give him a hand. Simply take the money from my salary ... seriously, Gourcuff is good here and if he can stay he will do great things."

Bordeaux must cough up £12 million to sign the Milan midfielder.
