Senegal captain Lamine Diatta is set to sign for Birmingham City.
The powerful centre-half or right-back makes up for Alex McLeish's failure to land Gary Cahill who joined Bolton from Aston Villa instead.
Diatta is a free agent after buying out his contract at Besiktas.
