Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby stands by his decision to reject Chelsea when he was first spotted in France.
Diaby still believes he made the right decision.
"I don't think I wasted my time by joining Arsenal," the 24-year-old said. "When I met the manager he told me that he was signing me to play in his team.
"I was on the subs' bench the next weekend, and a month later I was playing Champions League football against Real Madrid.
"Chelsea wanted me too, but things were more complicated with them.
"I had talks with Mourinho, and he told me: 'I can't guarantee you a place.'
"On the other hand Arsene Wenger told me that he was looking for a midfielder to replace Patrick Vieira. He said I was a similar type of player, and that I would get to play in the side. It seemed an interesting challenge."
