Abou Diaby and Nicklas Bendtner fired Arsenal to victory over Steaua in tonight's Champions League clash at the Emirates Stadium.
Diaby buried Bacary Sagna's cross and Bendtner doubled the lead with a superb finish to reward the Gunners for a dominant first half.
But boss Arsene Wenger will have been disappointed by the fragile defending that allowed substitute Dorel Zaharia to pull one back for Steaua in the 69th minute.
The Romanian club enjoyed the ascendancy from the moment Zaharia gave them hope and Arsenal had to content themselves with runners-up spot in Group H.
