Di Matteo to hand West Brom start to Myhill

West Bromwich Albion boss Roberto Di Matteo has confirmed he will hand a start to number two goalkeeper Boaz Myhill for Saturday's FA Cup clash with Reading.

Baggies number one custodian Scott Carson made a horror mistake to give Fulham a 1-0 lead on Tuesday night and the Italian tactician will opt to give Myhill a chance at Madejski Stadium in the third round of the cup competition.

"Myhill will start the game on Saturday and it will give us a bit of time to digest everything and take it from there," Di Matteo said.

"Scott was disappointed with himself the other night and he realises he should have done better with the first goal.

"When you're a goalkeeper it gets emphasised when you make a mistake.

"But he usually reacts quite well to disappointments. He has done it in the past."

It will Myhill's first appearance for the Baggies since joining from Hull City in the summer.
