Chelsea's dismissal of Roberto Di Matteo was the final straw for Pep Guardiola.

Guardiola committed to Bayern Munich last week after being courted by Blues owner Roman Abramovich for over 12 months.

A close friend of the former Barcelona coach told the Sunday Express: "Really it frightened him that Roman Abramovich and Chelsea could be so ruthless.

"He felt that he would not have been given the time to build anything at Chelsea."
