Di Francesco: I am leaving Pescara to take charge of Lecce

Lecce have found their new coach.

Eusebio Di Francesco confirms "on Friday I will end my contract with Pescara and sign for Lecce."

The former AS Roma midfielder has been in negotiations for the vacant bench at the Stadio Via del Mare for some time, but it seems he has clinched a deal.

"On Friday I will end my contract with Pescara by mutual consent and sign for Lecce. We're on the final strait," Di Francesco told Radio Manà Manà.

"I spoke clearly to Pescara. I wanted to renew, but also left a window open in case an exciting offer came along - and it did.

"Lecce wanted me, chose me and this made me very proud and determined in my decision."

He replaces Gigi De Canio, who resigned after rescuing the Salentini from relegation.
