Sunderland boss Paolo di Canio is set to welcome four new signings in the coming days.

The Daily Star says he's swooped for players from four European leagues as he starts rebuilding.

French-born centre-half Modibo Diakite, 26, will arrive from Lazio and fellow defender Valentin Roberge is set to join from Portuguese side Maritimo.

Di Canio is closing in on a deal for defensive midfielder Cabral from Swiss side Basle.

They are also putting the finishing touches to a deal for France Under-20 midfielder El-Hadji Ba from Le Havre.
