Former Juventus star Paolo Di Canio has praised the signing of Felipe Melo.

The West Ham legend said: "Felipe Melo was a good signing for Juve too. He is not Xabi Alonso, but a player like him was missing. The way he defends and then builds the action is important. He just needs to control himself a bit more.

"Playing alongside Tiago Mendes he was very good. The two of them can form a good couple in midfield."
