Di Benedetto unveils ambitious plans for new-look Roma

New AS Roma owner Thomas Di Benedetto says he has big plans for the club. Di Benedetto's American group bought Roma at the end of last season and have installed Luis Enrique as new coach.

"We are starting a new era which will change the world of football," Di Benedetto said.

"We have ambitions and dreams which are shared by the people of Rome. This dream will need time to come true, but we'll be working on it. Rome wasn't built in a day."

Di Benedetto has hired a trio of men to run his new side in the shape of Franco Baldini - who won't officially arrive until later this year - sporting director Walter Sabatini and Coach Enrique.

"Our objective is to have the best management in place as it all starts from there, even if we have to target what happens on the field of play," he added.

"The objective is to give flexibility in order to put together certain players that Sabatini and the Coach have asked for.

"We won't make decisions on who to buy, they will be taken by the managers we have put in place - Baldini, Sabatini and the Coach.

"They'll turn to us for the financial aspects, but we'll look to meet their requests."
