Despite injury Beckham's loan contract stands as normal

AC Milan organising director Umberto Gandini has revealed that David Beckham's contract with the club will end as agreed, despite the fact he was severely injured whilst playing for the club.

The former Manchester United star was on loan with the Italian giants when suffering a torn Achilles tendon but Gandini said that he would return to MLS club LA Galaxy as planned but before that, he would undergo rehabilitation as an AC Milan player even if that means heading back to Los Angeles.

"So all the eventual contractual obligations will continue to apply," Milan Gandini told the AP. "After June 30, he will become a Los Angeles Galaxy player again. From the contractual point of view, absolutely nothing changes. The fact that he was injured doesn't change affect his contract.

"Until June 30 his rehab will be arranged in accordance with Milan and the Los Angeles Galaxy."
