Norwich City are demanding £6 million for Robert Snodgrass.
The Scot is a target this month for Celtic boss Neil Lennon.
The Mirror says Snodgrass is emotionally drawn to a return to Glasgow and is keen for the move to go ahead before the window shuts.
The deal - backed by millionaire Irish businessman Dermot Desmond - would see Snodgrass become Celtic's best-paid player.
