France coach Didier Deschamps has sparked a row between Hugo Lloris and Tottenham.

Deschamps is unhappy Lloris faces a spell on the Spurs bench after Bad Friedel's outstanding start to the season.

"This is not the case today. I'm not going to create a problem that I don't have today," said Deschamps, speaking at Clairefontaine on Monday.

"But if it happens, it deserves consideration."

He added: "You all know the value of Hugo. I do not know what will happen but I hope everything will go well for him.

"I saw what Villas-Boas said. It surprised me. I hope it will go well for him."
