Deschamps: Ferrara will struggle to control Juventus icon Del Piero
Didier Deschamps has had a pop at Juventus captain Alessandro del Piero.
The Olympique Marseille coach admits he found it difficult to work with Del Piero while he was in charge of Juve.
Deschamps believes Ciro Ferrara will struggle to man-manage Del Piero when he is fully fit.
“It’s complicated, also because knowing Ale I don’t know how he will take certain decisions. I struggled for an entire year because at Juve you always speak about him, every day, in good and in bad, and now that I am no longer in charge I am a lot calmer," said Deschamps.
“Now it’s Ciro’s problem, but when he played he was always rather close to Del Piero. I don’t envy him. It’s more difficult for those players who have become trainers to still be a player.
“The trainer makes the decisions, so there has to be a degree of distance. For those trainers who have once been someone’s team-mate it’s hard work making others understand it.”

Del Piero is not a problem. Del Piero is the solution.
Del Piero is force. Because the force is there in.
Alex is Juventus and Juventus is Alex. I think, Alex can play together with Diego. Eevrybody say, one team just use one fantasista. But, for me, best team can use two fantasista. Alex-Diego play together is Nightmare for everyone defender. Forza Alex...!!! Forza Juve...!!!
Rather odd that Deschamps mentions this now? He has been long gone from Juve. How come he didn't mention this right after while Ruinieri was coaching the past two years? Also Alex is always known as total class and although I understand how hard it is for Ferrara to coach a player who was once his captain, the fact of the matter is Alex gives the team its best chance to win. It's when the player can no longer produce and you need to sit him out where it can become a problem. Anyone who has seen Juve play this year realizes how badly Alex is missed. Sorry Deschamps but if this story is true then You are just jealous of Alex and Ciro. But you did mention they were close, so maybe that is the case. Didier worry about Ligue. You did leave rather oddly after the promotion to Serie A.
