France coach Didier Deschamps is dismissive of Dimitri Payet's superb form for West Ham United.

The midfielder has been outstanding for the Hammers this season.

But Deschamps says: "Dimitri is a quality player whether for Marseille or at West Ham today. I saw Monday's game against Newcastle. I did not see the goals.

"I'm here to judge. There are more important requirements for the France team. I think everything has to be earned.

"I don't speak for Dimitri, but if a player does not agree with the entire group, he will not be selected."
